Web Development & Information Technology Experience

Website Alchemist Web Design is a Hobart based website design & development business providing full-scope WordPress website hosting and production. We specialise in small business, tradie, and eCommerce websites.

Website Developer: Garry Chapple

I have been working in website and intranet development, as well as cloud services and general IT, for many years—around 30 in fact—requiring me to have highly developed multidisciplinary skills and knowledge.

In more recent years I have developed a unique set of niche skills in small business online marketing, specifically SEO optimisation and Google Ads campaign management, with the goal of providing a comprehensive set of services, tailored to suit small businesses' needs in today's competitive online world.

Google Ads Marketing Campaigns

Targeted Google Ads campaigns help drive traffic and generate leads for your business. Whether I’m building you a custom WordPress site or a full-featured eCommerce platform, I can set up and manage ad campaigns designed to attract the right audience. These campaigns focus on key goals like page views and form submissions—ensuring your new website not only looks great but also brings in real, measurable results. It's a complete solution to help your business grow online.

SEO Implementation & Management

Alongside building your website, I also implement on-page SEO using industry-standard tools like Yoast SEO to help improve your visibility in search engines. Whether a small business site or an eCommerce WordPress site, I ensure your pages are properly optimized with the right keywords, metadata, and content structure from the start. This means your website isn’t just beautifully designed—it’s also set up to rank better on Google, attract organic traffic, and bring in more potential customers over time.

Technical Background

I have extensive experience in technical and management roles covering a range of technologies, from building desktop PCs to HP enterprise servers, implementation of threat management routers, Microsoft 365 provisioning management and support, and development and managing corporate SharePoint and public facing websites. Some of my previous roles included IT Support Engineer, IT Manager, senior IT Engineer, and Chief Information Officer.

Multimedia Tools & Development

Over the years I accrued a great deal of experience in general multimedia and web design and development. I have considerable experience with popular multimedia applications like Adobe lightroom & Photoshop, Affinity Photo, and Davinci Resolve. I am well versed in the provisioning, development, and management of WordPress based websites. Also, I have extensive experience in domain name registration, provisioning and management.

Image & Photography Services

My photography experience spans some eight year or so, employing Pentax, canon, and Nikon equipment. I currently use primarily Canon R5 & R7 cameras with professional 'L' series Canon lenses, including the RF 100-500mm L series, RF 200-800mm, and Ef 100-400mm L series. Our images are processed in-house using industry standard Adobe photo applications such as Lightroom and Photoshop, delivering excellent quality images for both web and general commercial use.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Garry quickly grasped what I wanted, and has created a very flexible and intuitive application for me. He always responded in a timely manner to my suggestions, and on many occasions exceeded my expectations with his ideas and their implementation. He is so easy to work with, has a very personable character, and his rates are very affordable for a small enterprise like mine. For anyone preferring to work with an owner of a small operation rather than perhaps a better-known, larger business, I would thoroughly recommend Garry.
